FEAST TO HELP FUND NEW FRONT GATE
DATES FOR 2008
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT 2007
At this time I would like to thank all of our volunteers and crew that helped make 2007 a wonderful experience for all our guests. In spite of the rain our volunteers and professional entertainers provided a wonderful time for all. I would like to take this time to share some of the comments that we have received:
"...the Acadiana Medieval Faire, located in Arnaudville, proved entertaining for the people who attended and rewarding for those who participated.... The Friar, a character from the living "Canterbury Tales," blessed people as they walked in. "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. May Saint Dasani and Saint Aquafina watch over you," said the Friar. Also, the Wife of Bath, another of Chaucer's "Canterbury" characters, made her way around the grounds. The character in "The Canterbury Tales" is known for her tendency to get married again and again, six times by her tale's end. She roamed around flirtatiously, proposing to anyone who vaguely resembled a man. As people waited outside the fair, she was chastised by her friends for attempting to "rob the cradle" by proposing to a baby in a stroller...." Robert Gattle: The Vermilion
...."We really enjoyed it," said Bill Long of Leesville. "Everyone is in character. The food was really good. They even have root beer made on site. "We're definitely coming back next year," he said... "There were lots of kinds of swords," Dielenschneider said. "And entertainment and food." "I hadn't been to one of these in years and thought she (Kassie) would enjoy it, which she did," Dielenschneider's mother, Beverly said. "We'll be back next year."..."
